Renting a storage unit with B&C Storage is easy and affordable. If you are new to storage or are a returning customer, we have answered some of the most common questions you may have. At B&C Storage we believe that you should only pay for storage when you need it. Our Rental Agreements are month-to-month, with no long-term commitment. The rental term begins on the first of each month and lasts the entire month (there is a one-month minimum). Your full month rental payment is due the first of the month. If you move-in after the first of a month, we will prorate your first month’s rent so that you are only paying for the days you are in the unit.
If you plan to move out of your space, simply give us a call to notify us of your move-out. If you are moving out by the 15th of a month, you may prepay for half a month. Please note, if you plan to vacate after the 15th of the month, a full month’s rent will be due.
All of our storage facilities provide 24-hour access to storage units and parking spaces. The personal access code you choose upon your rental will let you into the facility at any time of the day or night.
How much storage space you need really depends on what it is you’re going to be storing. There is no set answer. Our Size Guide is a great resource to help decide which size unit is best for you. Our trained staff can also help you with sizing. Give us a call at 315-469-6200.
If you move into your unit and find you need more or less space, with a quick phone call or email, we can easily transfer you to a new perfectly sized space.
We provide a free, brand-new disc-lock with each rental. The disc-lock is the best in the industry and comes with two keys. Only you have keys to your space. If you prefer to use your own lock, we recommend using a disc-lock which is designed specifically for the doors and is the most secure.
To rent a storage unit, you will need a photo ID and the first month’s rent. We accept credit cards, checks, and cash. Please note that monthly payments in form of cash must be brought to the main office location at 4004 Box Car Lane, Syracuse, NY 13219. The easiest way for our tenants to pay their monthly rent is with our convenient online bill payment.
For the safety of our customers and the facility, some items are not permitted in a storage unit. If you are unsure if we permit an item that you are considering for storage, please contact us to check!
- Flammable substances (such as fireworks or explosives of any type)
- Hazardous or toxic materials
- Food or any container that previously contained food
- Stolen property
- Controlled substances
- Live or dead organisms
You may store any items in your storage unit that you would typically store in a garage. We strongly recommend that you empty gas tanks prior to storing gas-powered equipment, which is a safety measure for all cusotmers and the facility.
Yes! We sell a variety of boxes, additional locks, mattress covers, and tape.
We take great measures in both the construction and management of our storage complexes to ensure the safety and security of your stored items. Security measures include the digital recording of all storage facilities, a gate with keypad access*, and we provide each new tenant a disc lock for added security. Each building is constructed to keep the space resistant to moisture for the safety of your items.
* Our Camillus and Auburn locations do not provide gate entry access.
Yes, insurance is required. You are liable for the contents stored in your unit. Most homeowner or renter insurance policies will cover your stored goods. We suggest that you check with your insurance agent to be clear about your individual policy. We do offer affordable insurance options with Storsmart.
